Torn Paper Pocket Seashore

Last week Laura showed us how to do a "Torn Paper Pocket" card on the Michael Strong Yahoo Group technique Thursday and I wanted to try one.  Click here to go to Laura's blog and see how she made her card.

Didn't quite know what "look" to go for but then thought of a card I LOVED that Hetty made and I had already copied.  Click here to see Hetty's card.

To make this I took two sheets of 4x5.25 Very Vanilla paper and smeared them with Antique Linen ink.  Then I tore one of the sheets diagonally in half.  That way I could flip one over and use it for the middle pocket.  Then I stamped on the small Seahorse and also a splattered pattern stamp in Tea Dye all over.  I sponged the edges in Tea Dye.  Then I glued it together and added some dots of Crystal Effects, some burlap, shells and the Sea Star cut out.  For the tag I died some crinkle ribbon with Antique Linen and a bit of Tea Dye.  The sentiment was stamped in Tea Dye on Whisper White so it would stand out a bit.  For the other pocket I'm just going to insert a gift card...

Stamps: Michael Strong (Cloisonné Seahorse, Mini Creatures), Stampin Up! (Voila), All Night Media (Splatter Pattern)

  1. Heidi, I LOVE your "rendition" of the torn pocket card! I just may have to CASE your ideas! Love EVERYTHING you have used--the soft colors, the seahorse and splatter stamping, the shells and starfish, the burlap, the cool scalloped circles on the tag and the pretty ribbon! Thanks for sharing your creativity!!! hugs, Laura
