Acrylic Batik

Herma's technique for the day was "Acrylic Batik"!  Just what I was going to do next week.  So I already had a couple of backgrounds prepared:

First of all I stamped Mike's Mosiac Frame on white and embossed with clear embossing ink.  Then I dabbed on some acrylic paint (Tim Holtz disress paint -- Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry)

and then smeared it all over using this rubber tool.  You don't actually need one -- you can just use an old credit card or something but this was a new toy of mine so I wanted to use it.

Here is the result:

I just made a simple card out of this to keep the background as the focal point.

Here's another one using Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean:

Valentine's Day

I made a couple of tags to put on my Valentine's Day presents to the kids.

Put some Barn Door distress stains on a couple of tags.

Brayered on a bit of Fired Brick distress stain.

Brayered on a bit of Picket Fence distress stain.

Stamped a script stamp on them.

 Splattered some twinkling H2Os on.

Stamped Mike's  small heart in Barn Door and cut out.

Here are the presents.  Both the kids love soccer...

Wedding Card

Here is a card I made for a couple who recently were married.  They are Indian so someone told us that red was a traditional colour for weddings and also told us what to say for the sentiment.  Apparently it means "Enjoy a happy life!"  I used Michael Stong's small heart.
