Michael Strong Card of the Day - Friday

I love the new technique "Tie Dye Circles" from the latest issue of Technique Junkie!  I find it perfect for Mike's stamps also!  I used "Tea Dye", "Ripe Persimmon" and "Gathered Twigs" to make the circles in this card.

I stamped Mike's big Gecko also in "Gathered Twigs" and the paper is "Chocolate Chip" and "Tangerine Tango".  I added some burlap, "Pumpkin Pie" brads and an old Stampin Up! sentiment.  Here's the completed 5.25" x 5.25" card:

I also made a scrapbook page but didn't put in a picture yet.  Here it is:

Michael Strong Card of the Day - Technique Thursday

My technique for today is the "Baby-Wipe" technique.  First you take a baby wipe and fold it in half and then in half again.  Now it has a little more padding.  Then you take a couple of bottles (2 or 3) of re-inker (I used Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass) and drip some drops onto the wipe.  You can make the drops random or in a pattern but make a spot large enough so you can put your stamp onto it.  Now use this new "ink pad" and stamp all over your paper!  I used a flower cut out from Mike's Busy-bee set so I could have tiny flowers all over.  After I was done stamping I used my colour spritzer and misted Tumbled Glass marker all over for a bit of a splattered look.

Then I used a Marianne designs creatable die called "Anja's Square" and cut out paper in Marina Mist and white.  The flowers are a Susan's Garden thinlet die called "Mini Daisy" and they are white with a Marina Mist center.  The butterflies, oval punches, pearls and sentiment are all Stampin Up!

I had to put a little something on the inside so here it is:

The finished card is 5.25" x 5.25".

Michael Strong Card of the Day - Wednesday

An Easter card for my son (who loves chocolate!)  First I sponged Crumb Cake and Soft Suede circles on using daubers and then I stamped Mike's bunny (I had to cut him out) all over in Early Espresso.  I used my colour spritzer and my Early Espresso marker to create some splatters all over.  The button is some Stampin Up! clay coloured with Early Espresso and put into a mold.  Some linen thread is tied around the button.  The paper is also Early Espresso.

Michael Strong Card of the Day - Tuesday

This is my take on the "Millefiori" technique shown in the Feb/March 2011 issue of Technique Junkie.  The circles were stamped in "Bashful Blue" and "Marina Mist".  I cut out a flower from Mike's Busy-bee stamp set and stamped that in "Pacific Point".  The other flower was just stamped in black. The paper is "Pacific Point".

Michael Strong Card of the Day - Monday

For this card I used daubers to smear Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie ink all over a white sheet of paper.  Then I used a cut out flower from Mike's Busy-bee set and stamped all over in black.  I stamped a speckle stamp all over in black also.  Then I cut the piece of paper in 3 and layered on black and then Pumpkin Pie paper.
