Michael Strong Card of the Day - Friday

Maybe that should be cards of the day because I decided to show the other cards I made when I was making the card of the day.

This is similar to Tuesday's card.  The colours I used were faded jeans and broken china distress stains.  I also used the picket fence with the square mask to make the square pattern you see.  Then sponged over it with normal broken china distress ink.

This one is similar to Wednesday's card.  Same colours.

This one is similar to Thursday's card.  I used wild honey, peeled paint and frayed burlap distress stains.

With this card I wanted to get a look like the masked resist but without the waiting.  So I basically cut circles out of some craft tape and stuck them on.  That meant I could stamp and sponge right away without waiting.  But it also meant the circles were fairly large.

Colours used were antique linen, gathered twigs and wild honey.

That's it for my card captain week!

Michael Strong Card of the Day - Technique Thursday

This card uses the Masking Fluid Resist technique.  The colours of ink I used were Tim Holtz picked raspberry, dusty concord and ripe persimmon.  The cardstock is Stampin Up! pink passion and black.

Michael Strong Card of the Day - Wednesday

Here is my card of the day for Wednesday.  To create the background I first smeared some Tim Holtz Picket Fence (the white suff) all over my craft sheet in a rectangle about the size of a card.  It then pools together.  Then I dropped some Tim Holtz re-inkers (bundled sage, wild honey and crushed olive) into the mess. I plopped my Stampin Up! naturals white cardstock into the mess and pushed down on it.  I picked it up and found that the paper wasn't quite covered but I LOVED the look of the rest so I just left it rather than ruin it.  Then I stamped the small gecko with some Tim Holtz gathered twig.  I wasn't very careful with that and sometimes got a mark from the edge of the stamp.  So to cover that up I sprayed with some of the Stampin Up! log cabin spritz.  Then I distressed the edges and sponged on some gathered twig there also.  The cardstock is Stampin Up! chocolate chip and more mustard.  I embossed the mustard with the Victorian embossing folder and sponged it with some Tim Holtz wild honey.

Michael Strong Card of the Day - Tuesday

Here is my card of the day for Tuesday.  To create the background I put some distress stains (wild honey, peeled paint and pine needles) on my craft sheet, misted a bit with water, swiped my paper in in and let dry.  Then I sponged over a square template with pine needles and peeled paint.  A bit of ribbon and some tags (tag punch from Stampin Up!) finished it.  I used Stampin Up! naturals ivory and garden green paper.
